It happens every spring. When the weather gets warm, and it comes time to get dressed for any casual event, I experience the dreaded... Closet Shock!
Now that the weather is warm, Mr. Mickey and I have brought back the Wednesday date night tradition.
On this date night, we visited a new, very casual restaurant in Johnson City. The Local Kitchen and Wine Bar reminds me of the 1980s, from the wine and liquor bottles used as the ceiling to the pennies inlaid in the floors.
Our dear friend Tony Seaton's beautiful daughter, Shelley, works there, for now, so she was our main reason for visiting. Shelley will soon be leaving for culinary school, and we wish her every success and happiness as she begins this new chapter of her life.

Loving the purple with the Khaki, hadn't thought of that combo before.
I like the purple with the khaki also. I am new to your blog, a 50 something ☺ and I'm wondering how you feel comfortable in your skinny, clingy pants. I went shopping last week for some skinny jeans (but not too skinny) and hated the way they made me look. I felt like every bump and bone showed and didn't like the tight fit at booty or at the bottom of the legs. They are definitely not for me and I'm a size 6. I ended up getting some Liz Clairborne classic straight leg jeans that were skinny enough for me!

You look so good in colors, Susan...this is another great color on you!
Casual chic is what I need most, so always glad when you dress in that style
I'm new to you blog and just love it! Perhaps you can explore some new ideas for "casual chic" and we can learn together. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
If I wear slim leg pants they have to be made of a thicker smooth finish material (almost like denim), never thin knits. I always wear a long tunic or jacket with slim leg pants so that only the lower portion of my bottom shows or none at all. I prefer a looser fit straight leg ankle pant when I can find them.
Yes, more posts about casual chic, please! Will have to try your color combo. Best wishes to Shelley as she enters culinary school.
I love this color combination on you!

Hey Susan. I have been following your great blog. One thing I wished you would comment on is the correct undergarments for women 50 and older. I always have a stressful time finding the correct undergarments. Thanks for the great blog.

Spring is always a "closet shock". It is a lot of work with the clothes. Main thing everything from past years fits well (no extra pounds ).Your look fabulous in your purple jacket. The art of hoops earrings are the most flattering on your face, I believe. I like the picture between the blooming trees. (are they cherries ?)Have a nice spring time !
