Angel Cardigan

Sometimes leggings, a cardigan, and a tank are all you need to look polished and put together on a busy morning.

Connie Smith owns the website BodyLanguageByConnie with her husband. They just launched the new site this past summer. When she contacted me about showing items from their new site, I declined because all their items seemed way too youthful looking for me. She convinced me to try these two items and I am so glad she did.

The leggings are made from a thick supportive dense knit and they have a shaping waistband that I love. I wear them often for these reasons.

The cardigan has a great shape and texture. I received many compliments on this look and it was very comfortable all day.

The cuff is from my own company. The necklace is by Erica Lyons from Belk. The tank is from Stein Mart by Peck and Peck. The bag is by Ralph Lauren via T.J.Maxx. The shoes are by Gianni Bini from Dillard's.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Bag Color Tip

My Tahari by Arthur S. Levine jacket was found at Dillard's during their end of season sale last summer. It has become one of my favorite dressy jackets.

I once read a style suggestion that went something like this. "Buy a handbag the color of your hair and you will carry it more often than any other." I really do carry my gray bags most often! This one by Calvin Klein is one of my daytime favorites. I found it at T.J.Maxx last fall.

The slacks and the shoes are by Ivanka Trump via Saks Off 5th.
I am wearing a long sleeve black tee from Chico's. In case the weather turns cooler, I have a black trench coat by Fabrizio Gianni thrown over my arm.

A Warm Day!

On winter Saturdays we often go out to lunch and then run a few errands.

The early afternoon was very pleasant with temperatures in the mid-sixties.

It was great to shed the coat and heavy clothes if only for a few hours.

The long gray fringe cardigan is from Saks off 5th from their own label. The white tunic blouse is from Express. The coated ponte leggings only look like leather. They are from Saks 5th Avenue. The long gray and silver necklace is from Chico's. The gray Calvin Klein Saffiano leather bag is from T.J.Maxx.

The warm weather allowed me to wear these Ivanka Trump shoes from Saks Off 5th.

The wide smooth silver-tone cuff is from Chico's.

I always pair leggings with a long tunic or jacket which totally covers my bottom. If it comes to my knees... even better!

Jazz Night

At the end of a tough day, the best reward is a relaxing evening with your best friend.

Mr. Mickey and I stopped at the Memorial Hall Theater at the Veterans Administration for a few quick photos on our way to dinner.

White jacket: Express - Black pants, cuff and tank: Chico's - Bag: Express - Shoes: Nordstorm

The theater is supposedly haunted by an old projectionist and actors moving about on the stage. I am happy to report no such ghosts were seen on this visit.

Established in 1901, the Mountain Home VA Medical Center is located here in Johnson City.

We had dinner at Wellington's where a jazz band was playing. They often have live entertainment including professors and students from ETSU.

As is often the case we struck up a conversation with someone because we liked her shoes. Can you believe this woman is 55?

Rock 'n Roll Soul

If you are also a child of the seventies you know the joy of wearing platform shoes and black jeans with a cool jacket.

This look took me back to my teenage years when I lived in jeans and platform shoes.

I certainly didn't understand how to effectively use style, color and proportion back then but I thought I looked really cool all the same. This photo from my senior year book proves otherwise.

I am wearing a jacket by Ruby Rd. from Dillard's a few years ago. The jeans are from Chico's last fall. The shoes are by BCBGeneration via Ross. The bag is by Tahari via T.J.Maxx a couple of years ago. The Kenneth Cole Reaction sunglasses are also from T.J.Maxx.

Thanks for joining me on this fun trip down memory lane.
Now for your listening pleasure...

Summer Classics

White jeans with a black or navy top is such a great classic summer look!

The nude sandals with cork soles and the red clutch are from T.J.Maxx. The turquoise earrings added some pizzazz and complement the stones in my ring and the link bracelet toggle.

The sunglasses are by Kenneth Cole Reaction via T.J.Maxx. The earrings and the ring were gifts from Mr. Mickey.

The black rayon and knit combination top and the white zipper ankle jeans are from Chico's.
