Try Something Different

I have found a formula for getting dressed that works for me, but I have fun trying out new silhouettes.

Each time palazzo pants are in style, I am tempted to try them. I love the idea of wearing them in warm weather instead of a sundress. They are cool and comfortable and breezy like a sundress, but your arms and legs don't have to be on full display.

When you find the right top and shoes to wear with them, they are very flattering.

These pants work so well for me because they have a smooth wide waistband instead of a gathered small elastic one. The latter would add twenty pounds visually. The fabric is a very forgiving lightweight knit that skims the body but shows no jiggly bits.

The black platform shoes are sturdy and easy to walk in. I do not wear high heels with palazzo pants because it is too easy to get the heels caught in them as you are walking.

Silver, blue and white is a classic warm-weather pairing for my cool skin tone.

We were on our way out to dinner this evening, so the little silver box clutch was appropriate. A small straw clutch and a wide brim straw hat with flat silver sandals would make this look more appropriate for the daytime. The hemline of the pants should almost touch the floor.

I am wearing a size extra-small pants here, so if you buy these, go down a size. The top is a size medium.

The box clutch and sunglasses are old from T.J.Maxx. The shoes are by Kenneth Cole via Saks Off 5th.

The top and the palazzo pants are by Clara Sunwoo via my friends at ShopMyFairLady.com.

Out of curiosity Susan, do you think that a need pair of shoes would have worked as well?

I am guessing you mean "nude" pair of shoes. I did try them but it seemed they were out of place with the colors of the pants.

This is a bold design choice and looks fabulous on you. I probably wouldn't try them because of the flow which doesn't usually work for me. And, of course, blue is your color.

What a timely post! I recently purchased an outfit to wear to an upcoming wedding, which is black almost pallazo pants and a flowy white top. I also bought a gorgeous evening jacket to go with. My dilemma was the shoes as I feel it needs a strappy shoe rather than something heavier. I also think it needs a long necklace, something with black and silver, but haven't yet found one I like. Perhaps I will take a photo of the outfit as I would love your input. I'm off to get my hair cut with a new stylist - and looking for a new hair style. Wish me luck.

I love palazzo pants! So cool and comfy in the hot weather! I really think you could go with a much shorter top and look even better! I find that long tops are not as flattering with the wide leg pants. Blue and white is a great combo for you! I am wearing palazzo pants today too!

This look can take the place of a maxi dress. Royal blue, black and white is a winning combo.

Very nice. I'm afraid to wear palazzo pants. Even though my hips aren't wide, I carry my weight in my stomach and I have a large bust. So I'm afraid of looking like a short rectangle,Im 5'3.But I like the look.

I love the colors and the whole outfit! I might try a pair of palazzo pants myself. P.S. Nice to to you step outside your comfort zone and wear a print.

Also, if I don't have a google account, is there another way to post a comment other than anoynmous?

You look fabulous in this outfit! Much more flattering than the short, tight "skinny" jeans. You look so tall and elegant. I recently purchased similar pants and almost returned them, but so glad I didn't because I always receive compliments when I wear them.

Great look for a lot of ladies but I am 5' and would have to cut off a lot of yardage. Blue is definitely your color.

You look fabulous in this outfit and I am going to try the trick with the necklace to avoid a barrel chest. Thank you for the inspiration. -Julie

I was wondering about a little shorter top also.

You look wonderful in this ensemble!! At only 5'2" (on a tall day!) I have stayed away from palazzo pants, but I would love to try these!
