Navy with white has been one of my favorite color combos since childhood.
Classic, simple pieces that can be layered and endlessly accessorized are the essential elements of my wardrobe.
As a young girl, I saved all of my babysitting money to buy my school clothes at the beginning of each year. This practice taught me always to invest in separates that could be worn together and in different ways. I rarely stray from that formula.
I have a roundish face, so straight lines are my friend. That means I love the square neckline of this new top from Covered Perfectly.
A dressier look for this top includes nude heels with a small chain bag and simple jewelry.
For a casual look, I changed the accessories to flat sandals, a hook belt, and a fun handbag.
I will also wear this top with scarves, jackets, and vests this fall. Khaki, gold, silver, white, gray, green, tan, orange, or peach are some of the colors that combine well with navy.
Many of the items I show you on my blog are old. If the items are current, I will always provide a link so that you can buy them. This fabulous top can now be purchased online at Covered Perfectly in several colors.

Love navy and white! One of my favorite color combos as well and one I'm wearing today. :-) A great idea to show two different ways to wear the same pants and top, along with some transitional ideas for Autumn wear. I am in the beginning stages of updating my wardrobe to more classic, multi-purpose clothing. It's a process but worth in the long run, I think.
Great color combo! I like both looks. I like tops that can go from casual to dressy. Thank goodness for accessories!
It's strange but you are wearing some very simple clothes but they look amazingly elegant on you. I could wear the same clothes and accessories and look a mess! But it is what it is so, moving on, I'd just like to add that your selfie hairdo is looking even better today. You have achieved something wonderful with your scissors, Susan.
Navy and white is one of my faves too! You look so classy in both outfits. I enjoy the two same things dressed up and then down. Such a practical set of visuals!
I think one major thing you always seem to get right is your undergarments. Do you wear camis under the shirts or just a perfectly fitting bra? I never seen lines, or bulges or anything! I think that also makes you look fabulous 100% of the time.
You are correct Lisa. Foundation garments are very important. I often wear a Shapeez Ultimate style bra or one from Soma called Enhancing Shape.
