Last fall, I purchased my very first cashmere sweater from Ann Taylor.
I probably had a bad experience with itchy sweaters in my earlier days because I have never felt the need to own a cashmere sweater.
Now that I have worn this elegant fabric, I must have more! It is warm but not bulky and oh so soft. It isn't itchy at all. I will wear this one for three seasons, so it is well worth the investment.
The black jeggings are old from Chico's. Both the ombre scarf and the suede and reptile texture boots are by Vince Camuto.

It's a lovely outfit Susan. Looks great on you.
I have the same concerns as you, maybe I will venture out and try one. I love the color you are wearing!
I still have lovely memories of the mohair sweaters we wore in
the 60s. Maybe I need to try cashmere now.
Does all cashmiere pill? Mine pills terribly under the arms.
You look so good in that color blue!
Once you go cashmere, you can never go back.
Joanne, If you get the thicker cashmere it doesn't seem to pill. I almost bought a sweater at Stein Mart but I could see my hand through it. I am going to spend a few more bucks and get the higher quality in hopes that it will wear better.
My mom had a gorgeous cashmere sweater my dad bought her back in the 60's. One day she was going shopping and told our housekeeper NOT to wash the sweater...when she got home it had been washed AND dried...of course it had shrunk so much she couldn't wear it. She never bought another cashmere sweater (not sure why) but I've never forgot that (funny what we remember).
Your sweater looks wonderful on you...hope there are many more in your future.
