Farewell to the Inn

We had a fabulous meal in the Dining Room during our last evening at the Inn at Biltmore to celebrate Mr. Mickey's birthday.

I wore a silver and white sweater duster over a white tank and white jeans, all from Chico's. The various necklaces are silver with crystal and silver with turquoise. I often layer necklaces and bracelets for a more dramatic look.

Historic Day!

Mr. Mickey and I are on our way to an elaborate champagne brunch in the Inn's Dining Room at Biltmore.

We spent the whole day getting pampered in the Spa and lounging by the pool.

Below is the Library Lounge.

There is a baby grand piano at the end of the fabulous lobby before you get to the Library Lounge. We were entertained by Fred, the talented pianist, each evening.

There is a majestic panoramic view of mountains from almost every exit and window of the Inn.

The gardens were so fragrant! It was magical sitting here in the evening after dinner.

Fresh roses were on each table and on the vanity in every bath.

June 6th was the birthday of a truly great man (Mr. Mickey), but it was also the day that American Pharoah won the Triple Crown! We stood at the back of the tiny bar area so that we could share in the excitement. Did you cheer as if you had lost your mind? All of us gathered there in front of that TV certainly did!

Dinner on the Terrace

This was our view from the room at the Inn.

On the first evening, we had a light dinner on the terrace.

The view from our table.

We ordered the artisan cheese board and a couple of glasses of wine.

Mr. Mickey is a happy man!

Birthday creme brulee with fresh berries!

I wore a flowing black and white duster, tank, and necklace from Chico's to dinner on our first evening at the Inn at Biltmore

The white pants are from Fabrizio Gianni. They are so soft and comfortable! They do not look or feel like jeans, but they do have that casual five-pocket styling. I love that I can wear them with a nice blazer or a jean jacket and they will still look great.

The Conservatory Tour

Sitting in a garden is one of the great pleasures of summer.

The ultimate garden in our area is at the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. We spent the weekend there for Mr. Mickey's birthday.

We toured some of the grounds, the Conservatory, and the garden shop before our check-in time at the Inn.

I won't bore you with all of the pictures I took in the orchid house. I got carried away because they are my favorite flowers. The variety and fragrances were stunning!

During the early part of the day, I wore a white mesh jacket over a white tank top and ankle jeans from Chico's. The shoes are old by Jessica Simpson via T.J.Maxx.

More photos from our fabulous stay at the Inn will be published tomorrow.

The Celebration Continues

In celebration of Mr. Mickey's birthday, we stayed at the Inn on Biltmore Estate for the weekend. We enjoyed a light lunch at the Bistro at Antler Hill Village on Friday, the day of our arrival.

During the early part of the day, I wore a mesh moto-style jacket over a white tank top and ankle jeans from Chico's. The shoes are old by Jessica Simpson, and the bag is by Calvin Klein, both via T.J.Maxx.

More garden tours later. There are too many pictures to share them all in one post!
