Race Day

When you live in an area that hosts a NASCAR Race your life will be impacted for a few days even if you don't attend the races.

Each year Mr. Mickey and I look forward to attending a Race Day Brunch hosted by our dear friends Rose and Jerry Sorrell at their beautiful home overlooking the lake.

Spending time with these beautiful women makes me very proud to be part of this group. I always feel renewed from the positive energy and confidence each woman exudes.

Later in the day we joined more of our dear friends for a late lunch at the Blackthorn Club. Aren't the flowers by the entrance amazing?

If you know even a little tidbit about NASCAR racing you may have heard of legendary Hall of Fame racer Bill Elliott and his son Chase Elliott.

We are so happy to call them friends.

Isn't Chase adorable?

On this day, I wore a navy asymmetric hem top from Chico's with white Kut from the Kloth jeans from Dillard's and nude sandals by Jessica Simpson via T.J.Maxx.

Thank you for joining me and Mr. Mickey on this journey through midlife and beyond.

Take A Drive

Taking a long drive through the country or to another town to spend the day has always been one of my favorite ways to spend a relaxing day off.

Thankfully Mr. Mickey enjoys this type of weekend also. On Saturday we got into his little red convertible and headed for Blowing Rock for lunch and a bit of shopping.

Later in the day we took a nice long drive on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is the view from the front porch of the Moses Cone Manor.

I bought some new bling at B Dazzled in Blowing Rock. The link bracelet is the one you've seen many times before.

We also stopped into one of my other favorite stores, Finely House Couture. I found this great casual bag for fall. The straps can be adjusted to three different lengths.

The shoes here are old by Vince Camuto.

We stopped for dinner at the Glass Onion in Weaverville before heading home.

On this day I wore a red high low tunic from Chico's with white Kut from the Kloth jeans from Dillard's. These shoes are new so I knew I wouldn't be wearing them all day shopping for the first time. I found them at Ross last week. They are by Steve Madden.

Thank you for joining me and Mr. Mickey on this journey through midlife and beyond.
