The High Country

We always enjoy our drives into the high country of North Carolina.

This evening we were traveling to the Artisanal restaurant for dinner.

The small town of Banner Elk does a beautiful job with the border of flowers that continues for almost the whole length of the town.

The Eagle's Nest private gated mountain community has a beautiful new welcome lodge.

Flowers and trees always seem to thrive in the high country.

Of all my evening bags this is Mr. Mickey's favorite. I bought it on a long ago buying trip in Atlanta at the apparel market.

The sateen jacket is by Peter Nygard from Dillard's. The black brocade pants and blue top as well as the turquoise necklace are from Chico's. The Steve Madden heels are from Nordstrom.

Thank You UPS!

Just minutes before Mr. Mickey arrived for date night, UPS delivered my new shoes from Nordstrom. (It's sale time there!)

If you want to emulate this look but don't want to wear heels try a similar style shoe with a flat sole or a small wedge.

My sandals are DV by Dolce Vita 'Safia' from Nordstrom.

This is another sandal from Nordstrom that gives you a similar look.

My blouse is from Talbot's. The pants are from Chico's. The sunglasses and bag are from T.J.Maxx.

Dinner with Dear Friends

Rain was falling for much of the day but by the evening it had stopped. Everything is so green now!

For this dinner date with very special friends, I wore a deep pink double breasted knit jacket from Stein Mart with a black tank and black side zip pants from Talbots. The box bag is from T.J. Maxx as are the shoes which are a couple of years old.

Thank you for reading my blog.
Today is a bit of a celebratory post since this is my 100th!
It has been great fun sharing with you.
