We bundled up and braved the cold to go out to dinner last evening. So did a lot of other people. The restaurant was crowded! Good for them!
Boiled wool jackets are the warmest items of clothing I own. This is an old one that you have seen many times before. I paired it with a fabulous necklace, a gift from Kathleen Mannix, one of my very talented clients. She incorporates old pieces of broken jewelry into new sculptural jewelry. You can see more of her work here.
I also wore a bright purple long sleeve tee and black travelers pants from Chico's with black heels.
For all of you who asked about the portrait behind me above. This is a close-up of the David Clapp portrait taken about three years ago.
The bag is old from Kenneth Cole Reaction via T.J.Maxx.

So glad you had a fun evening. The outfit is great ant the necklace certainly is stunning.
You look very pretty for your evening out! In this bitterly cold weather a lady wants to look nice as well as keeping warm. I'd say you accomplished just that!
I just noticed something...is that Mr Mickey's portrait behind you on the stairway?
Donna, check facebook. I just posted the portrait of Mr. Mickey and I there so that you could see it. Thank you for your always kind comments.
Alas, Miss Susan, I am not on Facebook. Another thought, you remind a bit of Mary Higgins Clark. Granted she is a bit older but you both have an elegance and grace. I had the privilege of meeting her a few years ago.
Your fashion sense inspires us all, thanks so much.
Hi Susan,
You always look stunning! Thanks for all the kind words and the necklace.
You're truly deserving!
Xoxo

My congratulations to Donna for her observing look. Really, Mr. Mickey s head comes out of the beautiful head of Susan. What a nice picture !(the Corinthian column completes the myth).
I am neither on Facebook
You look ,Susan, very chic in the black suit with the necklace ,piece of art.
Beautiful date night look, Susan...love the necklace!! You always look so lovely...have a great week ahead!
Thank you for the revelation of the portrait. Be happy and healthy for ever!
That's a very sharp looking jacket! I hope you all get a break from the cold soon.
Loving that portrait - what a fine-looking couple you are! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
Very elegant and tastefully chosen. Like it very much!
Have a wonderful week

Susan, I am so enjoying your blog! Getting lots of good advice and fine-tuning my wardrobe color combinations since I have your skin tone and hair color. Love hearing about your adventures in Tenn and NC. I live in Kentucky, but have a lake house on Lake Norris and travel to Knoxville quite a bit. My son and his wife live on the Carolina coast. Love driving through the mountains to visit them !
I also am adapting my makeup routine and diet and have gotten great ideas from you. Can you share what you wear on your nails? I am having trouble finding a nice neutral with my pinkish hands and like to change up the clear gloss I typically use. Thanks for your time!
I must say you are dealing with mid-life amazingly. Your skin belies your mid-age status. The blue top is so complimentary and I love the shoes.
Cindy, I haven't worn nail polish on my hands for many years. It lasts about fifteen minutes when I get a manicure so I gave up. I shape my nails often and use a cuticle oil and a good hand cream many times a day. I do love to get pedicures in warmer weather. Thanks for visiting!
