This is an easy combination that always seems to work for me.
I put to use some of the tips we covered in a previous post here. Those are ankle jeans from Chico's, which work so well with short boots or the caged sandals I like to wear in warmer weather.
The Chico's tank is tucked in to give me a slimmer look, and I used a belt in brown. If I had used a lighter color belt, it would have made my upper torso look longer. (I need that!) The navy blazer is by Tahari via Saks Off 5th. The large square scarf is several years old from Ross.
The bag was from Saks Off 5th. I like the more modern look of not matching your bag to your shoes. The Vince Camuto boots are several years old from Nordstrom.
A lovely look and a little different from your long necklace and no waistline. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds do think a like...I am also discussing pumping up the basics this week on Midlife Boulevard and later in the week on my blog. You look lovely...what a difference a jacket and scarf can make!
ReplyDeleteI understand that "tucking" is coming back in.....I like having choices. I love the way you take your jeans up a notch. We can wear them on Fridays but I never do because they make me feel sloppy.....perhaps I should rethink that.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit.
ReplyDeleteLiking this look - Need to research how to do scarf this way. Looks Great.
ReplyDeleteI love this look too! I have a scarf addition, and that looks like a lovely one. Due to the increase in silk prices, silk scarves have become more rare and expensive. I applaud you for wearing such high platform boots! You really look good in them! After twisting my ankle a couple times, I am afraid to wear them, so it makes me smile to see you rocking them so well. I enjoyed this post!
ReplyDeleteKeep rocking those daily basics, Susan, I have a lot to learn!
ReplyDeleteThe weather where you are seems so very different to the snowy backdrop of a few weeks ago. Storm Imogen has just left our shores this side. Bbbrrrr.
Lmx.
Nice coloures and good look.:)
ReplyDeleteI was out today in a hipster district of my city. Hipsters get the casual look. They pay attention to detail, and put together the right details. What I saw not looking right was the non-hipsters. All I can say is that there really is a certain age when see-through leggings should not be worn as pants. Nor should a person stop to hoist up the see-through leggings in public. The time to stop this is now!
ReplyDeleteToday I promise to start thinking like a hipster when I go out in public. That is, I will take care with what I wear, and make an effort to be presentable. If I ever get tempted to wear see-through leggings as pants some years from now, I will ask myself, "Would a hipster let me leave the house looking like this?"
