Dressing in hot weather can be a challenge.
I don't care for knee-length sundresses because they show my legs and never flatter my shape. I am much more comfortable in a soft, breezy oversize top with slim white pants with a smooth wide waistband. Dressing for comfort has to include personality as well as the weather.
Let's face it; I will be hot no matter what I wear when it is ninety-eight degrees. My comfort level includes how covered I am, more so than the temperature. I would not be at all comfortable in a skimpy dress with tiny straps.
For me, a typical summer workday look includes a soft tunic by Clara Sunwoo from ShopMyFairLady.com. The fabric isn't clingy or hot, and it always drapes beautifully, so the Clara Sunwoo tops are a favorite summer look for me.
The white pants are by Renaud. The putty color sandals are old by Kenneth Cole Reaction.
If I wear a print, it is usually an abstract geo print in subtle colors such as this one. But, again, personality has to come into play as you get dressed. Ruffles and bling are also details that do not reflect my personality.
Why not wear one of the dresses you are selling?
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect. The colors are cool, even if they weather isn't. The loose top is airy, and the slim pants keep proportion in check. The sandals do not distract. This is a look I would gladly wear.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute summery look! I would wear this in a heartbeat. Minus the heels,i would not walk as gracefully in them as I'm sure you do Susan.
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes! I like wearing dresses since my legs are still looking good. However, I don't like to wear sleeveless dresses and that is all I see in the stores. When its so hot a sweater is not an option for me anyway. Can't win!

I'm with you Susan! Despite the 110 plus degree weather in Scottsdale, I too prefer pants! I love the color of this top! Your look is classy and chic!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in this! Pretty, elegant top and killer shoes!!
ReplyDeleteThe top reminds me of a pool of cool water - what a good look to help beat the heat!
ReplyDeleteYou always look cool and classy. I agree it's better to feel comfortable because it's going to be hot no matter what. -Julie
