Today, I share some of my handbag care and storage tips with you, along with a new giveaway. Watch the video below for more info on how you could win this bag by Michael Kors.
The built-in shelves in my closet are the perfect place to store bags and clutches, as well as cuffs and bangle bracelets.
A couple of years ago, I started using dust covers to protect my bags. I also keep them stuffed with tissue so that they don't lose their shape. I am making smarter purchases now, so I will be keeping my bags for several years, which means I want to take care of them.
I store clutches in a drawer for easy viewing and to keep them free from dust.
This video shows how I organize what I carry in my bags to switch them out so easily. You will also learn how to enter to win the bag I am giving away on the 4th of July!
Congratulations, Pat Willoughby!
You are the winner of the Michael Kors handbag giveaway.
I want to be just like you when I grow up! I am looking at 59 this Sunday and you have helped me realize life isn't over yet. I actually like growing old with you and your graceful personality. I recently had my colors done and I am Spring. But I can't shy away from black, it is so basic especially for hand bags. I find mostly silver & black accessories so the gold would fit with my new style and some of the old stuff that I am still wearing. I might not always comment on your daily post, but I do look forward to reading them! Take Care! KJ
ReplyDeleteSusan, Thank you so much so sharing your knowledge of fashion for those of us over 50. I so enjoy reading your blog everyday. Keep up the good work and know that there are lots of us out here who value what you share!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bag. And great advice. I use the pouch method of organization too because I love to change bags often.
ReplyDeleteAs always, great post.
Good morning Susan!I enjoy your blog and how wonderful it is that you take time out of your busy day to share your life and tips with me!
ReplyDeleteThe handbag looks very nice, I would enjoy carrying it!
Have a great day!
Rebecca
You truly are an inspiration to us women "of a certain age" (I am 54). I always look forward to reading your new blog posts and it's just a bonus when you decide to give away one of your lovely bags! Keep doing what you do....you are great at it! (And keep deleting the negative commenters. Your blog is obviously not for them!) Enjoy your trip to California!
ReplyDeleteBeth
I feel great that I'm doing the same things with my precious bags. I have a very few as I'm cheap....very. I would love to have that MK bag.
ReplyDeletePut me in the drawing.
Good morning Susan,
ReplyDeleteI have been following you almost from the beginning, love your advice and videos! I also started eating my adaptation of your morning cereal, everyone loves it and I have converted my sister, husband and best friend to it. I have lost 20 lbs. since I started reading you and feel much better. I would love this bag as I live in a rural area without decent shopping, my sisters are in n.j. and always carry 400.00 kate spade and coach bags and that is where I feel frumpy. When I visit them I definitely feel like the country mouse.
I have to tell you that I teared up at the part in your video about wanting to help women who feel ignored, I am 63 and know that feeling. I sensed such tenderness coming from you. Thanks for all you do. Dale
I so love your styling tips! Shopping can be frustrating at times; many stores seem to be divided into "young" and "old". I've been following your blog for a few months now, and I find myself thinking "Would Susan approve of this outfit?", not in an effort to copy your style, but to determine if the outfit I'm considering really expresses my style. Sincere thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am a teacher who teaches a college and career class to middle schoolers. My challange is dressing professionaly as an example for my students on my budget, also what is age appropriate, especially when I don't feel my age. I so appreciate the style tips and examples that you have graciously shared on your blog. I feel like I have a fighting chance to not only be an example on professional attire for my students, but I can compete with my younger coworkers. Thank you again for sharing your styling tips with us!
ReplyDeleteSusan, that is so generous of you! I really enjoy your blog! You are fashionable and stylish and age appropriate. You make it look so easy!
ReplyDeleteTwo of my grandsons live in Johnson City. It's fun to see some of the JC locations mentioned in your blog whenever we are visiting the boys. We love The Gourmet restaurant.
Just love this post and video! I was browsing Covered Perfectly recently and I'm so excited for what you will model! Thank you for all the tips and have a great week in LA!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and generous give-away! I would love to own that stunning bag. I, too, use my bags for several years and appreciate your tips on keeping them looking like new.
ReplyDeleteI just turned 67 and do find keeping a positive attitude about my changing body very challenging. It takes a lot of work and a dose of reality to accept what you can and cannot change. Your styling tips have been invaluable, and I look forward to them with every post. Thank you and have a wonderful trip to LA.
Thank you for showing us how you organize your bag - I wondered how you managed changing bags so easily. Since finding your blog relatively recently, you have inspired me to 'up my game' a bit with my dressing. I don't have to dress up for work, and I have allowed that freedom to lull me into a frumpy rut. I've made a few (mostly painless, lol) changes and my coworkers have noticed and made positive comments. Thank you for the inspiration! And that MK bag is perfect for carrying to work ;-) ...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the opportunity to win the handbag. I really enjoyed your video today on what you carry in your handbag. I have so many of the small makeup bags and now they will be used for organization of my purse. R
ReplyDeleteeally such a great idea, and thanks for sharing all your tips. Safe Travels !
What a great and generous idea to give away the bag. Thanks even if I am not the winner! I really enjoy and appreciate your willingness to share your fashion knowledge. The blog has been very helpful to me as I progress through my late 50s. I will be 58 in August and am in the process of growing out my hair to its natural gray. I'm almost there and it has been a journey full of ups and downs. Your blog has been very helpful during the process.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you great tips and inspiration. Handbags are something I don't buy often and try to take care of them. I am very careful where I sit them down to take care of the outside and put them in the same place when I come home. To store my handbags I place them on shelves or baskets, but I had not thought of stuffing with tissue and using a dust cover, which is a great tip. I had also not thought to polish them. I love Michael Kors handbags but do not find them on sale and they are out of my budget at full price. I have various colors in my handbag collection but tend to carry black a lot. I look forward to your blog every day. I follow other inspirational blogs but find a variety of helpful information from your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway opportunity! I thoroughly enjoy your blog and gravitate to it first. I've used dust covers for years but haven't stuffed my bags with tissue. What a great idea! I buy my bag covers from the Container Store. I love the tips and advice to keep us looking stylish! Have a safe and fun trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome bag Susan! After being retired for a year, I will be returning to the workforce part-time and the position requires travel. This bag would be a wonderful addition to my travel accessories. Keep up the good work Susan as your blog is my go to site for not only leisurely attire ideas but ideas for my "corporate" look. Thank you for your efforts in being a major player in educating women not only on enhancing their attire, but for bringing out the beauty that's within us all! A sincere thank you for this fantastic opportunity to win this bag!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to store clutches! I'm definitely going to use that. I have used an organizer bag in my handbag for years but I never thought of using more than one! So thank you for two great tips in one video. I, too, use shoe polish on my handbags and it really does a wonderful job of preserving them. I read your blog almost every day and if I miss a day I always go back and catch up. You have really helped me to develop a look that works for me although I never look as polished as you. Thank you for the chance to win the lovely bag!
That Handbag is beautiful and I love all your tips on keeping things beautiful and in shape for a long time = esp classic pieces that SHOULD last a long time. I would LOVE to win this bag - who wouldn't love a beautiful black classic handbag! Either way, I will continue to enjoy your blog and I look forward to your email on a daily basis to see what's new!
ReplyDeleteI love your style and have purchased several items you recommend from Cover me perfectly. I'm 54 years old, so we are close in age. Thanks for sharing your tips! Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI always start my morning with your blog. Apparently you are an early riser like me! I also have many handbags and change weekly and even though I have several designer bags, no Michael Kors! Being retired, I have donated a lot of my closet to charity.....keeping only what I can use and still enjoy. Would love to enjoy your beautiful bag as part of my collection! Thank you for such beautiful posts and also to your photographer! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHope I'm the lucky wiener! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI will rock that bag and keep it nice thanks to your helpful tips!
Good Morning Susan!
ReplyDeleteI so look forward to your blog posts everyday. I have learned so much from you about style and fashion you are my inspiration, thank you! As for the handbag giveaway I would love it(I do wear gold jewelry). Thank you for your generosity!
Susan,
ReplyDeleteI know you said your blog is your hobby but it's truly your vocation. It's made such an amazing difference in my life. I'm 61 years old and one day I was searching on line for clothing for women my age and that's how I found your blog. You have opened up a whole new world for me and I truly appreciate it.
I'm in the process of opening a small gift shop in Worthington, Ohio. All of my products are made in the USA. I wasn't overjoyed with my selection, as it's very difficult to find products that are still made here. Then I saw you wearing a Clara Sunwoo tunic. You looked beautiful in it and to my surprise it was made right here in the USA! I contacted Clara Sunwoo about ordering their line and last week I received my first shipment of clothing. I haven't even officially opened my store yet but have already sold many of the pieces. By the way, when I was speaking with Gina at Clara Sunwoo she asked how I found them and I told her it was from your blog. She was trilled to hear it.
I'm very excited about helping women my age find lovely clothing that is comfortable to wear, flattering, feminine, and looks great on. I've also contacted Covered Perfectly and am going to carry their clothing as well.
I tell ever woman I meet about your blog. It's a joy to read and you are an inspiration to all of us.
I thank you for taking the time to inspire, encourage, educate, and for making life after 50 an adventure for all of us.
Melanie Bunstine
The handbag video was awesome. I've always wanted to change bags to match the occasion, but it just seemed like too much work to move all that stuff each time. Now, with your organizational technique it will be a snap. I would love for the Michael Kors bag to one of the first to try this new technique out on.
ReplyDeleteYou KNOW how much I love Michael Kors. Please enter me in the drawing. I would LOVE to have that bag. Susan you have helped so many women over the years, including ME!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I loved the handbag video and have already started digging out all my "little bags" so that I can organize my bag. My email is:
ReplyDeletebarbarajamieson@bell.net.
Susan,
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much from you. Mostly, I appreciate how you have streamlined your fashion choices and created a capsule wardrobe. When I shop now, before purchasing anything new, I ask myself how the item will fit into my capsule. You are an excellent teacher and role model. Thank you!
I enjoy reading your blog. Loved the advice you give about organizing your purse. I plan to put that information to help me organize mine. I am trying to slowly organize my own life. It takes awhile so any helpful hints are always welcome!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being authentic, Susan. You have found your mission, which is so much more behind the scenes. Looking good is one thing, but doing good is quite another. I hope we all take that mission of caring out into the world in our daily lives.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan for sharing all your tips with us! You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for several months and it was perfect timing for me at this stage of my life. I am 56 years young and was having a difficult time transitioning into this new phase of my life as a married, empty-nester, looking-at-retirement, but still working, woman. You are such an inspiration and a breath of fresh air in our youth-obsessed culture. I appreciate your ideas, tips, suggestions and advice, but mostly, your sunny outlook on life. It comes through in every post you make. Thank you for sharing yourself daily with all of us who seek to find that elusive, but attainable, elegant component in our lives, whether it is fashion or fulfilling our dreams. It was always there, but we just have to believe in ourselves.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan.....
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed following you everyday. You appear on my FB wall & always have something interesting that takes me to your blog daily.
Your black bag is beautiful, I have just started to change my purses to designers. I am here in Northern Canada and love black as it goes with everything.I don't mind the gold with it even though my hair is like yours silver, naturally curly & I wear my hair the same length usually.
I would love to add Michael Kor to my collection.
Have a great week ahead modelling & I look forward to seeing who wins on July 4th.
Thank You for thinking of us with your generous gift.
Cecile Ingram
Thank you for sharing! I've cleaned out my closet and organized my clothing after watching one of your videos on how you organized your closet. It is so much easier getting ready now! I would love to be out in the drawing for the handbag! I also sent you an email!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I have implemented some of your advice and could not be more appreciative. I am moving toward a more vegetarian lifestyle and have made your porridge recipe many times. It's great and filling, just as you advised.
ReplyDeleteThe Michael Kors bag is beautiful. If I win it would be the first designer bag in my 50 something years. :-)
Debbie
I've sent you an email as well, I'm having trouble posting for some reason. I love your blog and I would love to be in the drawing for the handbag!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Susan for sharing, I appreciate all the advice and tips, you have given me a lot of ideas to incorporate into my own life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your generous advice. I love your style, And yes I'd love to win this bag! I've never had a $200 bag. My last bag was $12 on sale. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThere are some days that I just read your blog and think really? I can't do that, I can't wear those heals, I'm not in the shape I'd like to be in after my hip surgery....but I keep reading...and following....and what I do is try and pull out the one small thing I CAN do, I CAN accomplish and do that..I save for things that are reasonably within my grasp and set those as my goals. Today's example of how to properly store your handbags is just that type of example...even if my bags aren't really expensive, I can store them properly. I CAN DO THAT! And little by little, I will be able to treat myself to some nice things...example, I've learned to use my Chicos coupons wisely. :) Maybe 1 or 2 items at a time. It's working...and as a result, step by step, I feel better about myself! I DO appreciate you putting yourself out there. I may not embrace it all....but I am picking the things that work for me...
ReplyDeleteI would love to give your Michael Kors handbag a good home! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, and wear lots of gold, so that handbag really appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog!! I have always enjoyed the way your accessorize your outfits with your beautiful handbags. I was excited to see you post a video with your care tips!! It is so gracious and generous of you to give a subscriber your fabulous MK bag! I know the lucky winner will carry it and think of you!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I'm a newbie. I've been following you several months now. I love your blog. I've learned several new fashions tips. I love Bowling Rock too. Thank you so much for all that you do for us. I would love a new MK handbag.
ReplyDeleteOh, Susan! You will probably never know how much you have come to mean to me!I have been meaning to write you for quite a while, so here is the perfect opportunity. I am 61, formerly an active entrepreneur like you, but I've been beset by health issues for the last two years -- often I have to stay in my PJs all day because I just can't get dressed. But I am finally beginning to recover (although it is painfully slow), and seeing your daily email brightens up my day no end. I am determined to regain my health and also my style (the PJs need to go!) -- and your blog has given me so much inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI especially appreciate that you show what works for YOU and explain why, and how our styles will vary according to our body type & personal style. My style is a bit different from yours, but I learn something from you almost every day. Most important to me is that reaching 50+ (in my case, now, 60+) does not mean I need to start wearing "old lady" clothes! You show us every day that it is possible to dress with dignity and still have great, youthful style -- not looking like those cringe-worthy older women who dress from the junior department! You always look fresh, chic, but still appropriate. You rock!
Lastly, reading your story and seeing your (almost unbelievable!) before and after pix has been an incredible inspiration to me as I continue on my own healing journey. (I haven't quite managed a total vegetarian diet yet, but my husband and I have cut back to fish & chicken just a few times a week, and cut out red meat altogether. I can already see & feel the difference!) Anyway, THANK YOU for what you do for so many. I'm so glad to have this opportunity to tell you how inspiring you are -- to me, and so many others.
Dear Susan: Thank you so much for a wonderful blog for women over 50. I recently retired but remain busy volunteering on my State Board of Nursing and spending time with my family. Its not always easy to find fashion advice for the more mature woman and I am so grateful to read your column. I appreciate your helpful hints because I feel that truly taking care of yourself, valuing yourself, are things that often get lost along the way as we age. You are showing us daily, through your posts, ways to value ourselves and enjoy a happier life.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win that beautiful handbag. I love handbags and love how polished the right one can help you feel. I hope this one finds a home with me!
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog and all of the videos that you post. While I know this is not your career it is evident that it is a true labor of love. A big Thank You from one of your over 60 readers!
ReplyDeleteHi, Thank you for doing this great thing. I often shop at TK Maxx (I think that is the U.K. euivilent of TJ Maxx). Your blog has given me so much confidence. By the time we reach our 60s we are supposed to know our style and have confidence, but this isn't so. I need to be told that such a thing looks good or this is the way to do that. I am an intelligent woman but never had confidence. Being brought up in the 50s, it wasn't 'the thing' to be told that you looked good, that would make you big headed, so it has taken me a long time to learn. Thanks for your blog.
ReplyDeleteChris Martin
I follow your blog and have employed many of your ideas. Thanks for sharing with all of us - I'm truly listening!!!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog and look forward to the email with a new blog posting. I enjoy seeing your style and how you combine your basic pieces. I do wear a lot of color so couldn't just wear solids clothes like you but I like your hints on how to disguise the parts that don't need to be highlighted. I would love to win the Michael Kors bag!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have been following your blog for many months now and draw so much inspiration from your pictures, your clothes and styling tips, your personal life, and mainly from how you have transformed yourself through the last several years. I do so look forward to seeing how you consistently integrate your basic style into your varied activities and maintain an up-to-date, fashionable persona. That takes considerable skill, and you have mastered it beautifully. Your outgoing warmth is a joy to all. You have truly found your niche. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your bag. How very generous. I've been following your blog for about a year. I have learned many things about fashion from you and appreciate your attitude towards life.
ReplyDeleteSusan, Thank you for your devotion in helping others. I adore you and your style. The highlight of my day is reading your blog and learning from you. I first discovered your blog in March of this year while searching for tips on making high nutritional changes to my diet. Discovering your blog was a true blessing, I was close to turning 53 and was overweight and miserable. Your blog made a huge impact in my life on day one. Thanks to your advice I have lost 30 lbs by following your recipes and Dr. Fuhrman's book. You continue to inspire me daily and for that I am so very thankful. MC bag is beautiful and a great gift but what you've already given me is priceless! With love, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your great tips. I am thrilled to have discovered Covered Perfectly through your site. Their tops are wonderful, just the right length and so soft. Although we are all very different, I feel that we can all, as women, help each other in our journeys. And I really appreciate all your help and the ideas I get from reading your blog. I also appreciate the fact that you are not super extravagant in spending on clothes. I just cannot be wild with money-even for pretty things- a leftover from my upbringing I suppose. Thanks again for the great inspirations!
ReplyDeleteAnother Susan
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI love all your styling tips! Thanks for all you do : )
Safe Travels,
Your blog is so helpful and I look forward to reading each day. Thank you for posting style and food tips. You are encouraging all of us! I use the small bag method to keep organized too. Your bag is beautiful and I would love to be entered for the opportunity to carry your bag!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being such an inspiration. I just turned 55 and have lost 30lbs through Weight Watchers, but the new program is not working for me, so I am taking some inspiration from your lifestyle changes and hope to continue to be motivated to look and feel great. I have also recently adopted your narrow legged pants style and tops with a bit more coverage as we have a similar body style. I like how things look. I have had a "handbag problem" most of my life, but it looks like you might have me beat-LOL. I do love that glam big Kors bag though-don't own one of those. Thanks again for the daily inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI am actually in the market for a black handbag! And now I'm thinking maybe I should go back to a BIG purse and stop carrying a purse AND a tote bag to work. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Thanks for the opportunity to win the bag!
Lori
Love your style and all you share. You are such an inspiration! And that Michael Kors bag would look fab with my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this blog and am so glad I found it! I look forward to your posts each day! I have begun to incorporate some of your tips and suggestions into my daily life with great success. I would love to win the Michael Kors handbag - it would be a great accessory to have. I think it is wonderful that you are sharing your life with us and helping women in our age group to be more healthy and fashionable! Thank you so much for inspiring and assisting so many of us!
ReplyDeleteSusan, you are such an inspiration. I enjoy your blog and love your fashion style. I also enjoy your travel photos and hearing about yours and Mickey's outings and adventures. Thank you for being a part of my life.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, thank you for sharing fashion and lifestyle tips for women our age. You are the first blogger I have followed, and I am so happy that I did. I look forward to reading your blog on a daily basis. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYou have been such an inspiration to me. Not quite a year ago I drastically changed my diet for health reasons. A trip to the ER woke me up big time. I went from 210 lbs to 143 lbs at present. No diet, just an extremely healthy diet somewhat similar to yours. I'm 58 yrs old and feel better than I have in many years. Your blog has helped me realize that 58 doesn't mean dressing like an old lady. That there are so many options for us that work beautifully. Because of you I have learned to go ahead and wear the shoes I love, even if they have four inch heel. I could never have walked in them a year ago, but now I can! Fashion is so much fun now and you are helping me learn so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! My coloring is pretty much opposite from yours...brown hair, warm skin, but with blue eyes, so the handbag with gold metal would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteFabulous blog from a truly genuine person, keep up the good work and if I win the bag I would be amazed as I NEVER win anything!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I so enjoyed your video. Hearing your voice adds another dimension to all you have shared with us. Your blog is always inspirational and I have learned so much. Thank you and keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteHi Susan -
ReplyDeleteI have recently found your blog and am finding it quite helpful and inspirational. I have a very different body type and style of dressing, but still have gained valuable information from your posts on finding your style. The posts on which jewelry to wear with which neckline are great and I enjoyed your recent posts on dressing outside your comfort zone and trying new things. I lost about 40 pounds within the past year and am much more interested in "dressing to impress" and in not wearing the same things over and over.
Thanks for the chance to win.

Your blog is a real help for us over 50 (actually for me over 60) gals! Thanks for your tips and helps. I, too, use the smaller bags inside my purse and love the way it helps me stay more organized. Love the black Michael Kors bag!!! Thanks for your giveaway. Have fun in California. I have plans to order from Covered Perfectly in the near future.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan; great video, as always. Enjoy your time in LA; looking forward to your blogs about your trip and all the exciting things you see/do and the people you meet! As they say "Stay Tuned"!
ReplyDeleteHello Susan, I found you in March and have made some changes in my life because of finding you. Love the porridge, my weight is down and know I have found something that works and will get me to my goal. Love your giveaway bag, I am a goldtone lady.
ReplyDeleteYou are with me now every day and I look forward to every post. Spent most of my adult life in California and hope you have a great trip coming up. Thanks for this video and what a great way to manage your purses and changing is easy with your method. THANK YOU for your gifts of self you give so willingly and bravely!
Susan, you truly are an inspiration to us " past the fifty mark". Seeing someone changing their lifestyle is a blessing at any age, but more so in later life.
ReplyDeleteLinda R
Susan, I've been reading your blog for so long now that I can't remember how I first found you. I'm so glad I did, though. I look forward to receiving your posts in my email, and you have inspired me so much during the last few years to take care in my appearance and life. I appreciate your willingness to put yourself "out there" for us -- that's not something I think I could ever feel comfortable doing -- because you have helped so many women!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and get so excited with every post.
ReplyDeleteIt was so wonderful to actually hear your voice. You are a sweetheart.
Love the bag and would love to have it..........and who doesn't
love Michael Kors! Wish me luck.......
Hi Susan, I really enjoyed your video. Your blog has been a great help to me as I have transitioned into retirement. After years of corporate fashion, I was completely lost on how to develop a more casual look that wasn't frumpy! Business suits were like wearing a uniform to me - no thought and little sense of personal style...
ReplyDeleteI have recommended your blog to several of my friends. One of them found it interesting but commented to me that the only thing she thought I had in common with you is our name.
I guess in a sense that is true. I am tall, long (face, torso, and legs), and have thick, medium brown hair with golden highlights(no gray yet!). I go to perhaps 1 formal event every 2 years. However, your suggestions cross all types of body shapes and life styles.
I am gradually learning what "my" style looks like. For example, after reading one of your blogs on necklines, I realized that boat neck necklines are not flattering for me. Period end of story! I went to my closet and donated every boat neck top in my closet to charity for victims of domestic violence.
From reading your blog, I am gaining an appreciation for how a purse can complete a look. Therefore, I have been trying to change purses more than once a year. Your idea of little bags inside the purse is the key! Hope I win that lovely handbag. Have a great 4th of July!
Hi Susan, thank you for answering the question that I ask myself every time I receive your email - how and why does she change her purse so often? It is a big pain in the you know what to me!!!! I have two purses, one for winter (usually black) and one for summer (usually tan or cream). Now it makes sense by using the smaller separate bags! Thank you for being an inspiration to someone like me who is fashion challenged. I look forward to receiving your emails every day!! Keep them coming!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan for your generosity, not only for this giveaway but for sharing your life with us golden oldies. I have watched many of your videos and am always struck by your warmth, calmness and genuine kindness. I have followed you for quite some time now and love to see you enjoy yourself at all the lovely locations you and Mr Mickey go to. You are an elegant lady with a kind heart. Enjoy your trip and we'll put out the flags for your return in the 4 July. Jenny larking at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteSusan thank you for so freely sharing what you've learned. I love how organized your purse is! You are truly beautiful inside and out. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I look forward to reading it everyday. You have learned from you, and have made some great purchases based on my new knowledge. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSusan, love love you in that color blue! Like you I use different pouches to wrangle my things in my purse and it makes all the difference! As I've shared with you before,
ReplyDeleteyou've changed my life when I turned 50. I
owe my wardrobe and my confident, stylish look to you and your blog.
How generous to give your MK bag to a reader. I hope it's me, but if not I'll be thrilled for whomever the lucky lady is! Have fun in L.A.!
Tracey Y. From P.A.
I read your blog daily and love your bag organization and storage ideas, using zippered pouches is brilliant! Thanks for sharing the idea. The Michael Kors handbag is beautiful, please enter me in the drawing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a helpful post and video today. I love the idea of all the small clutches holding the variety of items in your handbag. When I change handbags I'm throwing all my stuff out on the bed and quickly throwing it in another bag trying to pack it in just so. When running short on time I often don't change bags because of how long it takes me. I'm going with your idea and then I can just transfer them from one purse to the other. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've been using that same system for awhile now and it really does help even though I don't change bags as much as I used to.
ReplyDeleteThe bag give away is so generous and thoughtful. I love the bag but will pass on being considered as a potential winner. I've downsized again and my closet space is quite a bit less. I gave away a few of my own bags due to lack of space. Life is good though and I wish good luck to all the followers who hope to win the bag. XXOO
Thank you, Susan, for this very generous giveaway. I look so forward to all your tips and advice every day. It is so refreshing to have someone in my generation do a true fashion and lifestyle blog for all of us "forgotten ladies". Sincerely, Deborah Jones
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered your blog and have been inspired to rediscover my style compass and fashion sense despite being over 60. I realized it is ok to wear what you love and what you look good in whether it is the style trend or not and have gotten more compliments than in years. I always carried one purse almost year round but learned from looking through your past posts how to add color pops or the finishing touch to and outfit with a cute purse. It always aggravated me to move all that "stuff" from one purse to the next I recently discovered an organizer bag on Amazon designed just for that purpose. Now I just slide that one bag from one purse to the next much like you do with your individual bags. Thanks for sharing your ideas and style sense!!!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have just turned 67 years of age and for all of my adult life I have felt that I was invisible. Your blog has given me a new confidence and I have been so inspired by you. Please enter me in the drawing for your Michael Kors handbag. It is just beautiful. Thank you and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteSusan, you are such an inspiration. I found you last July and I always look forward to your posts on style, tips for women our age, and travel destinations. At 57, I am on a journey myself and checking in with you keeps me motivated to keep going! Much love to you and Mr. M.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have just turned 67 years of age and for all of my adult life I have felt invisible. Since I have been reading your blog I have been working on my confidence and have been inspired by you. Please enter my name in your drawing for the Michael Kor's handbag. It is just beautiful. Thank you and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration!! I have learned so much from following your blog and facebook. My latest lesson was the bone colored shoes to lengthen; I have bought 3 pair since :)It never dawned on me before. Thank you for your hobby!!!
ReplyDeleteSue
Thanks for sharing your ideas about healthy living and styling. Thanks also for the opportunity to win a handbag.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Susan!I enjoy your blog and how wonderful it is that you take time out of your busy day to share your life and tips with me!
ReplyDeleteThe handbag looks very nice, I would enjoy carrying it!
Have a great day!
Rebecca
Susan,
ReplyDeleteOf course I love the bag, but most of all, I love the premise of what you do. I'm sixty. You give me hope. You make me smile!
Lori
Hello, I enjoy reading your blog! I've heard you mention Off Saks 5th avenue many times and I finally visited ours to discovered 2 pairs of shoes you've shown that I adored! So now I have "glam gams" with these beautiful shoes! That is what jumps out at me the most with your blog...amazing shoes! I realized how a wrong pair can "date" us. I've had success finding 2-2.5 inch heels and I can walk around all day in them..they are out there and once you find them, you feel like a million bucks!
ReplyDeleteAnn
It's so generous of you to give away this beautiful bag! Fingers and toes, I hope you pick me! I truly appreciate Kate what you do herebon you blog. You really put yourself out there and share so much helpful informatation. I admire your confidence and look forward to your posts. Have fun in LA!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan, for all of hard work on this blog. I love your style and the clothes you wear, but most of all I love your attitude. You are so kind and generous with your praise and you try to make people feel good about themselves which is so important. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I think you're fabulous and not just because you are giving away a bag. LOL I use a pouch method in my purse as well. I love your drawer for your small/evening bags. I may copy that.
ReplyDeleteMy mother, who is proof that Divas raise Divas, finally has a smart phone. She is 83. My daughter and I have been trying to teach her how to use it. We opened an Instagram account for her, just so she can follow family. In addition, I chose just 2 bloggers for her to follow and you are one of them. She will probably never click on the heart to like anything, however, she loves your style already and will be following you. She's "obsessed" with your shoes. (We took anything over 2" wedges and heels after her knee replacement.) Her insta name is GrandmotherBruce.
Have a lovely time in LA! Safe travels.
Brandye Scotton
Hi Susan! I have loved reading your blog posts and have learned so much about style and class from your posts. I appreciate how you do what you do with kindness, as that is unfortunately a rare quality these days. I especially have enjoyed your healthy eating tips, as I've found over the years that good nutrition has helped me be my best mom, teacher, athlete, daughter, wife and friend. Thank you for sharing so many good things with us! Sending thanks and a big hug from Texas!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching this video about how you use your handbags. I like the idea of the pouches inside. I use a handbag organizer which helps me a lot. Keeps the inside of my bags clean, too! I will be turning 60 in October and I have to admit the number is really bothering me. I find you blog to be an inspiration to me, and for that I am grateful. Your black Michael Kors bag is beautiful and that is so sweet of you to gift it to someone. You're a beautiful and generous woman~
Sincerely,
Valerie Hallmark
I am writing not for myself, but for my client who started following you this past year. She was going through a life changing medical issue and somehow found you on facebook. She loved your hair! She said, "when my hair grows back, this is the hairstyle I want"... It was Your's Susan.
ReplyDeleteI started following you to keep up with your hairstyles. We love your facebook "Outfit" posts as well. Thank you for being an inspiration to a gal who needed it at a tough time in her life.
I would love to win the handbag for Beth. She would absolutely love it!!!!
Gosh... I hope she doesn't see this(wink wink)

Hi Susan! Great post about organizing and storing handbags. I have to say the gift of the MK handbag is very generous and I hope someone gets it who will really appreciate it and will use it often. It is really too nice to sit in a closet not being used.
ReplyDeleteSummer is here and I am decorating our back porch so it is pleasant to sit outside and listen to the wildlife . I love a beautiful landscape so I am constantly working in the yard. Maybe one day I can visit Ashville and Blowing Rock.
Thanks for inspiring me to eat better- I have lost 26 lbs and my doctor is so impressed. My skin and my attitude is so much better!
Have a wonderful week!
Marcia R.
Thank you Susan, you've given me the inspiration to organize my closet, including the top shelf where my bags lay!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your clothing tips and pictures. I write a list of items that you suggest on my phone and when I'm shopping I can look for specific things to compliment my wardrobe.. Fifty not Frumpy is what I want to be :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog! Thanks so much for all you share. I hope to win the gorgeous MK handbag!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generosity.
ReplyDeleteYour smiling face, beautiful clothes, helpful comments and practical advice are such a positive start to my morning routine. I look forward to it and appreciate your willingness to connect with your audience in such a kind, thoughtful manner meant to help all of us who are in the best phase of our lives! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the Michael Kors handbag - I am disabled and use a walker for balance and support (no more falls for me, I HOPE) - this type of handbag would allow me to secure the handbag from loss or theft while holding onto my walker while in movenent. I love your blog and style of dressing because it can be doable at any price point which allows someone like myself on a disability pension to HAVE STYLE on my terms. One feature you have shown recently is flat shoes which is a necessity with rheumatoid arthritis even though I would love to wear heels. Flat shoes can be very stylish with the right style pant (in my case, slim straight leg). THANK YOU FOR BEING A GREAT INSPIRATION.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that I found your blog! I will be 62 on July 6, and am currently trying to recharge and update my style. I am winding down 2 years of taking care of my 3 granddaughters while my daughter went back to school (they live with us). This purse would be a blessing as I navigate age, beauty and chic! Thank you for giving back to women!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog daily for quite some time and just find you so inspirational, in every way! I enjoy reading about your fashion style, your transformation to good health through better eating and exercise, the location where you live since we would like to retire to that area from Chicago someday, and your success in business and speaking engagements. I look forward to your posts and have learned so much from reading them. Your photos and videos are wonderful as well. Thank you for sharing your handbag organization tips. I love a nice handbag and believe it really elevates an outfit. The Michael Kors bag is beautiful, and it is so generous of you to share it with one of your readers. Have a great day!
I just recently found your wonderful blog and must tell you that I have ordered some of the clothing that you have shared. I am 57 and I have a 14 year old daughter and because of her, I don't want to dress too old or too young. So, I am so happy to have found you so that I can dress classy and not frumpy. Thanks so much for the chance to win the handbag. It's not something that I would buy for myself, since most of the things I buy are for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteSusan you have great style. I look forward to your posts. I have been encouraged and inspired to a journey of wellness and finding a style that is me.
ReplyDeleteI love your fashion/beauty blog! I am 2 sizes larger on the top, and I enjoy your style tips. Much to my dismay, I have struggled with an increasing waistline, since I turned 50, five years ago. I find your blog to be an inspiration. I used to wear a misses size 8, but as my waistline increased, I had to start buying a petite size 12. I found that when I tried on larger misses sized jackets, the sleeves were too long! I loved your makeup tutorial! I also love the way this blog post shows us how to store clutch bags in a drawer standing up! I will try this! Keep up the good work!!! Thank you so much for being an inspiration! I have looked for other fashion blogs, but none are as good as yours! Yours is the only one I look forward to reading on a regular exercise basis!
ReplyDeleteSusan- you are truly beautiful inside and out. I have followed your blog for awhile and really admire you. When life handed you harshness you turned it into love and kindness. You are an inspiration. I would love to hear how you and Mr. Mickey met. He seems like a wonderful person too. I wish you many, many years of happiness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being YOU !
P.S. If I am selected for the purse giveaway thank you and if not thank you for just being an inspiration.
Ann
I just discovered your blog and I'm so glad I did!! You are so encouraging and have helped me come to terms with getting older even though I am older than you are. I will be 70 in October and enjoy being stylish and knowing what is fashionable for us ladies over 50. I really enjoyed the video about organizing your purse and I'm going to try it tonight. I really love your blog and look forward to reading it. Thanks for being there for us.
ReplyDeleteLinda
I've always wanted a Michael Kors bag! My sister has several, and I've seen them at TJMaxx, but could never afford one, even there! I read your blog daily, and have even bought a few of the pieces that you modeled. Thanks for all you do to support women everywhere.

Hi Susan, I'm going through a life transition and you're blog is helping me to pull myself back together. I love your honesty and that you are sharing from the heart rather than just trying to make a buck. Thank you! Sandy
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a beautiful bag and have been looking for a studded shape like that for sometime. I wish all entrants the best of luck and I am sure that it will be much loved in its new home.
I must say that your salient advice is always much appreciated and whilst on the face of it your blog is about finding one's own style and eating better it is in fact about much more. About finding your confidence in life and never giving up and the rewards such commitment to ones life does bring. You are a role model for many more people than you can ever possibly realise. Your adventures with Mr Mickey are the highlight of my day on many occasions.
All the best and good luck to all
Hi Susan:
ReplyDeleteThank you for finding your mission in life, for always being there if we have a question or need guidance, and for this generous, creative idea of passing your handbag on to someone who can use it!
Hope you are enjoying LA.
Best always,
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteThank you for such an informative and interesting video! I'm inspired by your organizational tips and since I sew, decided I can make cute dust covers for the bags I have. Thank you for giving me a light bulb moment. I love purses, always have been a sucker for nice leather. However, I always seem to have other purchases that have to be made and then kick myself for not looking at purses. So I must say, the Michael Kors bag is just the stunner I would be attracted to. Thank you for sharing it. And thank you for your very inspirational and from the heart message. Cheers!
That's a really nice thing to do with one of your bags . Thanks for all your helpful hints , I always enjoy your posts .
ReplyDeleteHello Susan -
ReplyDeleteThank you for fiftynotfrumpy.com! You are so inspiring, not just with your style but with your class, your courage, your daring, and your zest for life. That's what comes through to me when I see your emails, blog, pinterest, and instagrams. Thanks to your help I am learning how to pair items, how to accessorize, and how to build with basics. However, as your pictures portray, I am also learning how to embrace my style, enjoy fashion, and participate in life with more joy and enthusiasm. I would like to be entered into your drawing for your MK handbag. Of course it is gorgeous and I will love it (and use it!) but it will be so much fun to tell everyone I got it from my instafriend Susan at fiftynotfrumpy! Thank you for all of your shares, I so enjoy your posts.
I would love to own your beautiful Michael Kors handbag! I am turning 62 years old on the Fourth of July and this would make my day!! I have become an avid follower over the past year and have made significant changes to " un- frump" myself. My daughters have started to ask me for fashion advice and my fourteen year old granddaughter confided to me that she is glad I'm not an "old looking Nana"! I had never stepped foot in a gym but I joined in April and love it! My doctor wanted to know what I was doing to bring my cholesterol numbers down to keep me off meds! I have six grandchildren and want to be able to stay active with them. There is life after sixty, and I'm loving it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteSusan, thank you for the helpful hints on caring for handbags. You never disappoint!
ReplyDeleteSusan - you have such a sweet, loving demeanor about you and I love love your styling and healthy eating tips. I just turned 61 and find it difficult to find clothes - it's also difficult because I'm almost 6' tall. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. I would love the bag if I am the winner - and will put it to good use.
ReplyDeleteHi, Susan,
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog almost from day one.. I know you have influenced me more than I realize. Please keep up the good work, and don't let the turkeys get you down. I have just started buying better handbags, and would love to own this MK.
Sharon
Hello, Susan! Thank you so much for your blog and your encouragement to those of us on the "other side" of mid life! I've recently started paying more attention to caring for my health via nutrition, exercise, and rest as I get older, as well as investing in my general well-being a bit more than I used to. I like to get a regular pedicure and manicure and tend to spend a little more for quality, classic, staple pieces that will stand the test of time for my wardrobe. Shallow as it may sound, these little things make me feel so much better about myself! Thank you your blog and videos, through which I've learned that these things are OK, and not selfish! :-) I'd love to win this handbag, and thank you so much for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSusan .....please enter me in the handbag giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the handbag. I found out about your blog through a Jennifer Connolley you tube video. For the last couple of weeks I have been reading your blog posts. I have learned so much already. Thank you for all you do.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan,
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Bloglovin. I enjoy your posts and fashion tips. I try to dress fashionably and find inspiration I'm your outfits. I am 53 mother of 5 and still have a 13 & 19 year old daughters at home. I work FT helping small business owners like you through the SBDC. I toy a with the idea of starting a blog as well, but just occasionally post outfits i put together on Instagram for friends and family. I rarely get to shop, as I am so busy working and raising my family. Black is one color handbag I do not currently own. I am very particular about the bags I purchase and when I select something I will have it for years (sometimes decades) and store them as you do.
If you are interested in following me, look for me on Instagram at ldkatz38.
Have a great day!
XO,
Laura
I've really enjoyed your blog and all the tips and suggestions that you share to help me find the style that works for me. I've started to purchase nice handbags, and I would enjoy the Michael Kors bag! Thank you for sharing your knowledge - especially places to purchase clothing that is flattering to us!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, you inspired me. When I look at your photograhs with those beautiful and elegant dresses, I think, "age" is really a number, and no matter your age, 60, 70 years old, you can always look beautiful. I can not buy my clothes in some of the stores that you go, but I have become creative (of couse, trying not to make my husband mad ;-)). The important thing is to feel beautiful, because We are beautiful! Thank you for taking the time to show us that we can. If I would be able to win this pretty MK handbag, I would like to use it with something similar to the outfit you have in this photograph! <3
ReplyDeleteYou're such a sweetie! I'd love to win the Michael Kors purse. But if I don't win it, I know the winner will love it, too. :) Happy Fourth to everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm an over 60 reader and have found your blog so helpful in making decisions about my wardrobe. It seems there just isn't anything out there to inspire fashion without looking frumpy or dressing age appropriate. I'm a faithful reader, thanks for the inspirations. Your ideas on organizing your bags are great. I'm going to start doing that immediately.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI have just recently found your blog and I love it. You have introduced me to a new way of thinking for my other half of life. I enjoy seeing your attire and how well put together you truly are. I had never heard of Eat it Live, but have just finished reading it, thanks to you, and I plan to start implementing it soon. Enjoy your trip to LA. I have recently moved to Saudi Arabia from California and I miss it. Boy, do I miss it. Here, a female is not allowed to try on garments before purchasing them. One must buy it and run to the restroom to try it on, then return it if it's not the right fit. It just adds to the adventure. The handbag is beautiful, but I am not commenting as an entry. I just want you to know your blog is gift enough to me.
Always be happy,
Robin
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI will be 52 this September, and your blog has helped me look more polished and spend my money more wisely! Thank you for sharing your styling and lifestyle tips with those of us over 50. Your handbag care is good advice; I need to change the way I have been storing mine, and also invest in some good handbags. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Delyn Metcalfe
I discovered this blog several months ago and have been a follower ever since. Since retirement I have gotten rid of my work wardrobe and have been at stylistic loose ends since then. I find Susan's blog helpful in showing me a classy and feminine style that can work for me. Love the tips on shapeware, packing for a trip and covered perfectly tops especially. Aside from the tips, I also enjoy hearing about Susan and Mr Mickey's adventures. Thanks Susan!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to your next post! You have so many great ideas and solutions to my everyday style questions. You have slowly helped me morph from 60 and saggy to 60 and stylish!!
ReplyDeleteI love this handbag! It is so me! It reminds me of a bag by Hammitt in Monkees that I keep eyeing, although not in the budget right now. I have a black and gold Kate Spade watch which will look fabulous with it! I stumbled across your blog today and started following you. I have been intrigued catching up with your blog posts for over an hour. I love your style and personality and couldn't stop reading! What you share is interesting and beneficial in my line of work! I loved the proportions tips, and being a jewelry designer, especially the modeling poses. I am 61 and live in Johnson City. I am also at the age of dressing more comfy, but want to look well put together (without looking like I tried). The most fun for me is to decide what jewelry to wear or design to finish my look. I heard you were going to wear one of my necklaces in the fashion show at the Wine, Women & Shoes Event! I was thrilled and was hoping to meet you that day, but it was much busier than I expected and as a vendor didn't get to watch the fashion show. The girls in Monkees told me that one visit, as I go there often. Krista is a big supporter and has offered my line since last October! Krista even introduced it at their retreat and now Beauty In Stone has been accepted by corporate as an approved brand and included my line sheet in their latest email update! This is a fun journey and such a passion! I will be looking forward to your future blog posts! ...and looking to see who the lucky winner is of this gorgeous handbag!
ReplyDeleteI admire your youthful look and mindset. I recently purchased two Shapeez Camis based on your recommendation and I love them. I would like to win this purse and it would be my most expensively priced free purse ever. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour video on how to organize a handbag was just brilliant! I spent today working on mine. I'm so excited to be able to quickly and easily switch bags. Thank you! I would love the MK bag. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED watching the video; not just because of the great information that you shared, but because you spoke from your heart and I feel like I know you better now! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for help with my wardrobe now that I've lost some weight. So glad I found you! Love the handbag! Can't wait to read more of your blog. Great tips!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog and I love it. Organizing your bag video is a definite game changer for me....so simple yet perfect! Will no longer use the same bag because I think it's a pain to change. Thank you
ReplyDeleteDear Susan, Like many of your followers I live vicariously through your travels, dining experiences, and daily fashion posts. I do wear gold and would love the handbag. Thanks for what you do. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to send a message to Charlotte Blake who is turning 62 on 04/07/2016. It is just a Birthday wish from one Cancerian to another. My birthday is the following day Charlotte and I will be 2 years younger than your good self. I just wanted to wish you happy Birthday for 04/07/2016 and the best of British luck. What a wonderful birthday present it would be for you .
Best regards, Jackie
Susan, Thank you for the inspiration to dress appropriately, but still have fun and look stylish. Your posts and videos are wonderful. Have a great trip, Kandi
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I have just recently discovered your blog and I am very happy that I did! I turned 55 in January and for the last two or three years have definitely been in some sort of style and life transition, feeling like I need to rediscover and redefine myself and my style. I have always loved exploring fashion and style and have always been pretty sure I have myself in the mist of it. However, I must say that it's been a bit of a struggle to figure this transition out as my body and mind are changing in my 50s. But I know that I'm up to the challenge! Your blog has been very inspiring and helpful to me as I process this awesome journey into the 50s and beyond! We are blessed to be alive and we are vibrant, beautiful women with much experience and wisdom to offer to the world. Thank you so much for your contributions and for blessing our lives!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan --
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog rather randomly some time ago and enjoy it immensely and have shared it with my 50-60++ friends and coworkers. I love your sense of style and particularly the fact that you are just a regular gal that shops at discount stores and uses drug store products (I love the Almay eyeliner thanks to you!). Thank you so much for keeping all of us feeling young and pretty! Keep up the good work!
Jill
Sharing your bag with your followers is both generous and thoughtful on your part. Gold hardware on a bag always gets my eye and this bag has the shape and style that you carry. Looking after ourselves has been an important thread that you weave through your videos, blogs and travels. I really like to discover why cross body bags never seem right on me or why using angles in our clothing helps us look slimmer. When I asked about hints about posing for pictures , you wrote the best blog ever for your followers. You always wear updated clothing, pretty accessories and great new hairstyles. Keep us clicking our heels and looking fabulous through our second half of life!
ReplyDeleteWe love you and your story!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and have already shared it. I'm looking forward to hearing more! Please enter me in your drawing! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteSusan, Your generosity and spirit are just exactly what some of us need. FYI, I purchased three of the Simple Comfort tops from Covered Perfectly and you are right....the texture is like butter. I love them and hope they last me as long as yours has. Best wishes for a safe and fun filled holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generosity and sharing your handbag with us. Kudos to you. Would love to carry your " hand me down." Such a sweet jester. Would love to let my friends know Susan @ fifty not frumpy shared her handbag with someone a little less fortunate.
Hello Susan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your wardrobe tips and your story. I am going to purchase the diet book you recommnend because I find myself at 53 feeling "slow". I love handbags and don't ever apologize for the amount you spend on a bag. Just enjoy. People shouldn't judge. I am a single mother of four and I rarely get a moment to myself. A handbag makes me happy, like really happy, gets me through the month!
Love your blog. You will never know how it inspires me on making better choices for my wardrobe. I can't afford some of the pieces you choose but I make better decisions on style and color.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan, I've been reading your blog for awhile now and I really enjoy it. I love all your helpful tips . Thanks again for sharing your life with us...Pat H
ReplyDeleteSusan, I love all your helpful tips and the organization of your blog! Support and resources for women over fifty are few and I love finding everything in one place. I am starting a blog and hoping to gain exposure and support. I'm also hoping to offer some comic relief. It is called The Rantings of a Fifty-something Woman at:

Hi Susan, I think that you doing a purse give-away to one of your followers is a very kind gesture. I imagine your blog must require you to devote a fair amount of time to it, which illustrates that you do it for those of us who need to see that we don't have to disappear into the woodwork once we are passed our "bloom." The truth is all of the preconceived notions that women have about themselves are just stereotypes that we have bought into, because that is how we are socialized to think about ourselves. So, thank you for helping me, and many others like me, stop seeing ourselves as "wallflowers."
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a generous giveaway. Please let me tell you that you're truly an inspiration for all women, so please never stop doing what you do. Also, I love reading everything you have to say on your blog, so keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to receive the Michael Kors bag, however, you already have given myself and all your followers a gift by sharing your wisdom, insight & experiences with us through your blog. I am in a difficult season in my life right now and with so much negativity and troubling issues surrounding me, it is always encouraging and entertaining to read your posts. Thank you for always being so positive and kind- I feel like I know you personally sometimes. Thank you again for giving us all a glimpse into your life, and I look forward to following you & your adventures for years to come.
ReplyDelete
