Warm Weather Game

As the temperatures climb into the eighties during most afternoons, I am wearing tunics often.

One of my all-time favorite looks for warm weather is a long, swingy lightweight tunic. By adding a long necklace, I am breaking up my middle's expanse with the deep V created by the necklace. This tunic's subtle print also moves the eye over that area without stopping on my trouble spots. When wearing a print, always be mindful of where the blocks of color and pattern land on your body. The wrong placement can actually draw the eye to a problem area.

I almost always wear a statement bracelet or watch and sometimes even layer on three different pieces on the same wrist with a three-quarter length sleeve.

The ring is just a bit of fun, bling I picked up at some forgotten place in my travels. The clutch is old from T.J.Maxx. The sunglasses are by Michael Kors. The shoes are old favorites by Calvin Klein.

I took my camera with me on one of my walks to share some of the beauty of springtime.

I hope you are enjoying the tummy hiding tips I share with you on the blog this week. There will be a few more tips tomorrow, but honestly, if you study my looks, you will notice that I always try to downplay that area of my body.

  1. Good morning Susan. I have trouble picking the right prints for tops. Seems like sometimes the prints I pick look a bit "frumpy" if you know what I mean. I would appreciate any suggestions. Love the photos of your area. I really miss the mountain views.

  2. I am soooo looking forward to our trip through the South in two weeks. It looks absolutely gorgeous! And your outfit is, too. I am so glad you are wearing white pants. I deliberated about whether it would be too early to bring them with me and now--problem solved! What a change it will be from he dark, rainy/snowy weather we have.

  3. Love the French Kande bracelet. You make me want to go out and buy some white pants!

  4. Love the outfit. Jealous of your neighbourhood. As you know, I live in a neighbourhood of bungalows that surround a pond too. Our trees are bare, the ice just left the pond (leaving behind two shivering ducks who are trying to "do the dirty" in freezing rain) and there's another dusting of snow on the ground.

Looking at you being all sunny and windblown surrounded by spring was, shall we say, a test of my ability to be generously happy for someone else. :D

    Happy Easter Susan!

  5. Patti Rose, always balance a full flowing top with a slim fitting pant. The opposite is also true. If you are wearing a full skirt wear a slim fitting top. Have a great weekend!

  9. This is one of my favourite looks, Susan (and I love them all!!). The shoulderline of this top is so flattering and the overall look just perfect for spring! And oh how I love the neighbourhood you are living.

I have the same FB issues since yesterday - so annoying and of course there is no FB helpdesk to take care and answer any problems... :-(

Happy Easter from Germany to you and Mr Mickey!

  10. I have loved this tips! Oh, how beautiful it is where you live. I am in the lovely but gray pacific northwest and so the blue skies are wonderful. Have a blessed Easter!

  12. I love, love, love the top. Its pattern and colors are beautiful. Curious about sizing. What size are you wearing in the top?

  13. Clara Sunwoo sizes are generous. I am wearing a size medium but have also worn a size small in some of their items.
