Friday date night was a rainy one, which explains why we are inside, and my hair looks like I styled it into a bouffant. Big hair is what naturally happens in humid weather.
I love the edgy look of sleek pieces worn with an attitude, but I am too soft and rounded to carry this look off with authority.
I wore the white linen moto jacket from Stein Mart over a black tank from Chico's and a black pencil skirt from T.J.Maxx. The shoes are from Nordstrom. The bag is from T.J.Maxx. The bracelet is an old favorite.
You look good with "big hair"! Very pretty outfit on you...like the jacket...
ReplyDeleteWhile you may not think you carried the look off with authority, I say you have a very commanding presence! Your outfit was very classic and elegant. You are my style guru! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteDon't like what the shoes do to your legs. Would work much better with nude shoes or stripy sandals.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful. Your date night was outstanding I hope.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your big hair. You very glamorous--that old Hollywood glamour.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit and your hair, but sorry, the shoes make your ankles and legs look very thick.
ReplyDeleteMy ankles and calves are very thick! That's why I wear pants all the time. I constantly get asked if I ever wear dresses or skirts. Now you know why I rarely do! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean to state that your legs are thick. I have seen other outfit posts where you are wearing a dress and you have fabulously shapely legs! I just think that those shoes might look better with slim ankle length pants. Don't hesitate to wear dresses and skirts girl! Show off those gams!
ReplyDeleteYou look so glamorous. The white and black is so classy. The 'Big hair' as you say looks perfect with the outfit.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your summer polyvore sets. I prefer Autumn and Winter but for the 1st time in a long time Summer is enjoyable. Thank you-Lynne
The outfit would work best without the shoes. Black courts would lengthen your leg. Sheila
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great. Sheila
ReplyDeleteHi Susan
ReplyDeleteI'm the one who suggested the skirt last week. You are definately a beautiful woman, I think if your skirt was just above the knee and with pumps, that would be Devine on you. Pumps elongate the leg because the top of your foot is not covered, (also pointy toe....keeping with the sexy gal them). I only know this because I am short so try to elongate my legs whenever possible. You rock!

Susan, you really are a very beautiful woman. I think above the knee with the skirt and with pointy toe pumps. Whew, hot mama.... Please try that and show us. This is too fun. I love your blog,

Just had to say that I LOVE your hair! Guess God knew what He was doing when He gave you big hair? You've made the best of it by making it soft and silky, so it looks LOVELY. You always look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what you put together and reading about your adventures. Thank you for sharing!
Dreadful shoes
ReplyDeleteSusan - I really enjoy your blog and seeing the outfits you create for your events with Mr. Mickey. I think you are a gorgeous woman and love the outfits your wear and the details you share with us. Seems like you have gotten a lot of comments about your shoe choice and I (with all respect) have to agree. They are just not feminine enough for your outfit (and I also agree the black pencil skirt was a little too long). I also have a trim body but thicker calves and ankles and always chose low cut pumps or sandals to show as much leg and foot as possible. I avoid a lot of straps and details. And always opt for the pointed toe when possible. The nude color pump or wedge looks great with almost anything. They almost seem to disappear. And, as I have gotten older I look for comfort (avoiding the sensible shoe look when I can) and try to keep the look classic, polished and updated. I would also like to see you choose "day-time" type show with your cute ankle pants. I don't love flats but own a few because sometimes they are needed to make the outfit work. These are just ideas I use (and see in a lot of fashion blogs and magazines). Just passing along some thoughts on the show issue. Please continue to share your thoughts and ideas with us.

Why on Earth would anyone bother to make a derogatory comment? Spend your time saying something or doing something nice for someone else. Susan....gorgeous as always!
ReplyDeleteSusan - Please accept my apology if my comments were taken as derogatory. That was not intended. I think you are drop-dead gorgeous and love your style (you make Chico look great). Your blog is a delight to read and your comments are always age-appropriate and interesting. I like the exchange of ideas and if I offended you in any way - I apologize. I am a loyal follower.
