Warm Weather in January!

It was seventy-five degrees here in the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina yesterday!

Mickey and I took a drive over the beautiful mountains to Asheville, North Carolina, yesterday. It was much more like a Spring day.

He sat patiently waiting for me while I shopped for hours. Our afternoon included a late lunch 'restaurant hop' through Asheville.  We had an appetizer at Carmel's and then took a stroll down the street to have lunch outdoors at The Laughing Seed on Wall Street. After another stroll, we had divine chocolate truffles at The Chocolate Fetish.

I had to go looking through my closet for something cool to wear that didn't look too summery. These great fitting side zip pants are from Talbots. (I bought five pairs of this style of pants on the same day!) The off white tank is from Ruby Rd. at Dillard's. The cardigan is old from Target. The large square silk(like) scarf is from Ross. The sunglasses, short boots, and bag are a few years old.

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a beautiful Sunday!

  2. Sounds like a wonderful Saturday! Hubby & I did the same thing when we visited Asheville last year for a short getaway. I love downtown Asheville!

  4. Restaurant hopping must be exciting, particularly if you end up with chocolate truffles! You look very Sunday'ish in those colours - love it!

  5. Susan, it sounds like such a fun afternoon and you look great!! We seem to shop in the same places...I have not tried the side zip pants at Talbots, but after seeing how good they look on you, I just might have to. Have a wonderful Monday!!

  9. Hi Susan:-)
New on your blog. Wow wow. You look very stylish! You obviously have a strong will (I saw the pic of before and after you lost weight. Impressive)! And you wear scarves with such elegance. I really love the one you wear on this pic: it matches perfectly your gorgeous blue eyes. Just superb.
Will be back on your blog.
Have a great sunny and warm day in the beautiful area of Ashville (I live in Florida where it has been amazingly hot too these days)
    All the best,

  10. Beautiful outfit, great colors especially the blue next to the face.
By the way,how do you manage to eat chocolate and look so good?

  11. Thank you! The chocolate is limited to one or two pieces per week. I don't deny myself the things I enjoy eating, I just don't eat very much of it very often. Have a great week!

  13. I agree with Adrienne in that I love the tan and blue combination. The scarf is another nice touch. I need a more flattering pant style like these. They're perfect! I see why you bought multiple pairs.

  14. Hi Susan,
    Those colours look lovely together.
In regard to the weather. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and we're having weather up around 40 degrees here (which would be over 100 in farenheit). So very warm here right now.
Great tip about just eating one or two pieces of chocolate and not denying yourself. I'm a chocolate lover and I'm always trying to give up chocolate without success.... perhaps just limiting myself to a few pieces a week is a better way. Have a lovely week. :)

  15. Wow... proportions matter! Gorgeous outfit on you, and the scarf-sweater-top combo works so well. Pretty shoes, too. I'm wary of cardigans, 'cause they can make mature women like me look a little dowdy, but on you? NOT! Lovely.

  16. You look beautiful and I love the outfit - casual yet (probably) comfortable without sacrificing great looking! I look forward to reading more about your fashion after fifty - we all need a boost from wearing sweats and sweatshirts all day!
