The Celebration Continues

In celebration of Mr. Mickey's birthday, we stayed at the Inn on Biltmore Estate for the weekend. We enjoyed a light lunch at the Bistro at Antler Hill Village on Friday, the day of our arrival.

During the early part of the day, I wore a mesh moto-style jacket over a white tank top and ankle jeans from Chico's. The shoes are old by Jessica Simpson, and the bag is by Calvin Klein, both via T.J.Maxx.

More garden tours later. There are too many pictures to share them all in one post!

Fuchsia and Khaki

On the last day of our Martha Washington Inn visit, we had a leisurely late breakfast before taking a long drive through the country on our way home.

Two weddings were held at the Inn this weekend, so there were abundant flowers everywhere.

I wore a fuchsia washable linen boxy shirt with a tie front and a longer back from Chico's for the drive home. Shoes by Sam Edelman.

The pull-on smooth fit khaki pants are by Fabrizio Gianni. The super-comfortable pants are made in the USA.

I hope you have enjoyed the photos from our weekend getaway and that we gave you some ideas for what to wear during your own fun times. More adventures coming soon!

Mother's Day

I am blessed to still have both my parents. Spending part of the day with them and preparing the evening meal on Mother's Day was an extraordinary time.

Mother and I are above, and that's my sweet father below.

I wore white cropped jeans with an aqua tank and a watercolor print sheer top for this casual family time. The cuff and clothing are all from Chico's. The shoes were by Jessica Simpson via T.J.Maxx last year.

Khaki and Black

Khaki pants can be the perfect casual element.

When we go out to dinner with friends to a very casual restaurant, I find that a nice pair of khaki pants will usually serve me well. Denim sometimes seems too casual, and black always feels dressed up even when the pants are jeans.

Last night I wore a great pair of sleek pull-on khaki pants from Fabrizio Gianni. The wide waistband and no zipper mean the waistline is smooth and flat.

The black V-Neck top is by Tahari from T.J.Maxx. The necklace is several years old from Chico's. The jacket is by Peter Nygård from Dillard's.

The shoes are old by Louise Et Cie from Nordstrom. The bag is from Finley House Couture in Blowing Rock, NC.

When I invest in pieces that fit well and are of good quality, I can enjoy wearing them in various ways over the years. Solid colors make it easy to mix and match.

Another Sunny Day

It was another beautiful sunny day on Sunday, but with nothing more exciting than a trip to Walgreens planned, I threw on a pair of jeans and a red tunic.

East Tennessee State University is part of our history, so we took a few minutes to enjoy the sun on a bench at Alumni Plaza.

The Jeggings and tunic are old from Chico's. The Dolce Vita sandals are from last year as well.
