Wear It Wednesday - Proportion

Are wide leg pants the trend you have been waiting for? If so you are in luck. They are very much in for fall 2014.

Wide Leg Pants

This look gives you a chance to have long lean legs, not to mention being two inches taller. These platforms are perfect for wide leg pants. They are actually flat so they will give you height without wearing heels.

Wide leg pants should cover your shoes and almost touch the floor. This means your jacket and or top should be shorter and more fitted to the body.

Your pants or skirt can set the tone for the whole look. If your pants are narrow and shorter, your top should be long and fuller. If your pants or skirt are long and full your top should be shorter and more narrow to balance out your proportions.

Ignoring proportions can give you a very unflattering rectangle silhouette (think refrigerator).

What goes around, comes back around. Fashion does recycle itself to a certain degree. I like your analogy...refrigerator indeed!

I so enjoy reading your posts. I'm a long way away in Brisbane Australia where we are hitting 30degrees celsius in the first month of spring but I have filed away the wide leg pants idea for next year. At 5'11" I won't need to add height but my 1970's teenager self feels attracted to them nonetheless. I look forward to checkiing in on you every couple of days.
