Denim Jacket

If I never try anything new, you might start to yawn.

This week on the blog, I am breaking all my personal styling rules. So today, it's never close a double-breasted blazer.

This White House Black Market denim trophy jacket looked OK, even buttoned because of the closure angles and the buttons' placement. (I didn't keep it fastened all day.)

I am not a fan of denim trucker-style jackets because they just don't suit my body shape. In addition, boxy jackets are challenging to carry off when you are busty. This blazer, however, is right up my style alley. The angled lines and tailored style are flattering for my body shape.

I paired it with a slate gray tank and white So Slimming jeans from Chico's. The bag by Zac Posen and the Balmain sunglasses are both from Saks Off 5th.

The shoes are old by Sam Edelman. Keep in mind that animal print is considered neutral. I wore these mostly tan ones with white pants. If they were primarily black with brown, I would have treated them as a dark neutral and paired them only with darker pants to extend my short legs' line.

Downtown Asheville

We enjoy Asheville for its exceptional dining and shopping options, street musicians, people watching, and unique Art Deco buildings.

I wore the black version of the draped blouson BCBGMAXAZRIA top from Saks Off 5th with the perfect leggings from Svelte. The gray faux suede jacket is old from Saks Off 5th as well.

The small reptile bag is old and the booties are old by Nine West both from Saks Off 5th.

Have a beautiful week!

The Grove Park Inn Getaway

We love to stay at a resort where you can valet the car and just stay on the property for two or three days. Last weekend we visited the more than 100-year-old Omni Grove Park Inn located in Asheville, North Carolina.

You can easily spend the whole day being spoiled in their fifty million dollar SPA.

There are several excellent restaurants as well as shops, and many historical exhibits throughout the property.

These photos were taken in the Palm Court atrium floor located over the Great Hall. Mr. Mickey was looking dapper as usual!

We spent the early part of the first evening in the great hall. It is great fun to watch people and listen to live entertainment while sipping our favorite beverages. Later in the evening, we heard the dueling pianos in Elaine's downstairs.

The Charles Jordan shoes from Saks Off 5th are my new favorites! The gray fringe sweater is old. The bag is from T.J.Maxx. The tank, pants, and necklace are old from Chico's.

Dinner At The Orangery

The Orangery is a legendary French restaurant in Knoxville, TN. We always make plans to eat there when we are in town.

The Orangery story began in 1971 when a young enterprising businessman named Kristopher Kendrick realized that Knoxville's elegant ladies needed an equally elegant place to enjoy lunch. Kristopher named his restaurant The Orangery (after Marie Antoinette's greenhouses in France).

The Lobster & Mushroom Crepes was one of our top five meals ever!

Throughout the evening, we enjoyed performances by Judye Russell Brackner on a Steinway piano in the lobby.

This lovely lady with me is Glo, the manager.

The building includes other businesses, as well as the restaurant. The common area reminds me of a small street in Paris.

I am looking forward to visiting again when Décor is open for browsing.

The Orangery features a large spiral staircase from a pre-Civil War mansion, marble from Park Junior High School, paneling from the board room of United American Bank, and gates from the former Fulton Mansion on Lyons View Pike.

The BCBGMAXAZRIA jacket is from Saks Off Fifth. I am wearing it with a silver-gray long sleeve tee with black coated jeans from Chico's. The Nine West shoes are from Saks Off 5th.

Mr. Mickey and I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Saturday Afternoon Casual

I'm on a long cardigan kick this week.

I found this gray lightweight cardigan with a fringe edge at Saks OFF 5th last week. It is from their own Saks Blue Label. I wore it on Saturday afternoon with animal print flocked jeans and a white tank from Chico's. The boots are by Nine West, also from Saks OFF 5th.

Mr. Mickey and I had a light lunch of spinach dip with pita bread and a glass of wine at Label, a new restaurant in Johnson City.

We are planning to go back for dinner later. They are getting rave reviews from everyone we have talked to, and this dip was delicious.

The decor is rich with reclaimed wood and a very high ceiling.

This beautiful lady is Arianna. I asked to take her picture as she was walking by because I admire her awesome casual look.

A green space park is beside the building. It is at 112 Tipton Street. The upper level has loft living spaces.
