Wine, Women and Shoes

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of working with my dear friend Krista who owns Monkee's of Johnson City

Krista asked me to spend the day modeling and visiting with the attendees for a Wine Women & Shoes® event to benefit the Wellmont Foundation.

The legendary Virginian Golf Club was the location for the special event. My personal attire for the day included a royal blue Clara Sunwoo top from ShopmyFairLady.com. The cigarette leg white pants are by Renuar, and Purple Poppy provided them.

The necklace is from S.M. Bradford on Hilton Head Island. The shoes are from last year, and they are by Vince Camuto. The bag is from Express.

I loved seeing my sweet friends again and meeting loyal followers of the blog. It was thrilling to hear "I follow your blog!" so many times during the day.

It was an honor to be in the company of hundreds of generous women who donated their time and money to help others who might not afford the early detection necessary to outlive cancer.

I made a great discovery today when I met Alexandria W. Alli from F&W Style. She is the designer of a fabulous line of handbags of excellent quality. The rich colors and textures are so classic and elegant. I will be buying several of her designs!

I modeled an emerald cape sleeve dress with black leggings accessorized by a hand-beaded necklace and carried a small beige clutch bag. These items are from Monkee's of Johnson City.

Several of the young women who modeled with me on this day are breast cancer survivors.

Proceeds from this event will help the Wellmont Cancer Institute improve access and affordability for breast cancer screenings.

Wine Women & Shoes® sophisticated events feature SHOEMMELIER-style wine tasting, auctions, fashion marketplace, and often a fashion show created for women who enjoy fine wine, great style, and female camaraderie – all to support a noble cause.

Sunset From The Loggia

We celebrated my birthday at the fabulous Inn on Biltmore Estate.

Panoramic views of meadows and distant mountains greet you as you approach the Inn.

Fall is starting to arrive here in the mountains. It is quite cool in the evenings now, so I wore a tunic from Monkee's of Johnson City with Mesmerize pants from My Fair Lady. The shoes are old by Sam Edleman from Nordstrom.

At the end of a wonderful day, we watched the sun go down from the Lobby Bar's loggia while enjoying a bit of fresh fruit and artisan cheeses.

Later in the evening, we sat in the Library and listened to the pianist play beautifully before it was time to turn in.

The Monkee's Ribbon Cutting

It was such a delight to be part of this special evening! The ribbon-cutting and VIP party was held at the new Monkee's in Johnson City last evening. The store will be opening for business tomorrow, August 15th.

My beautiful friend Krista is the owner. She is cutting the ribbon surrounded by her family and staff above and hugging her mother below.

This fabulous boutique includes shoes, clothing, and jewelry. Since only a few pieces of each item will be offered, there will always be a new arrival.

It was great to see so many of my sweet friends! We are all excited to have this beautiful new store to shop in. The merchandise has been carefully chosen to include modern looks for women of all ages.

A college friend drove all the way up from Atlanta to surprise Krista and her sister!

We had so much fun getting to be some of the first customers!

My dress, which is actually a skirt and top, is from My Fair Lady in Tarzana, California.  Women stopped me on the sidewalk today to ask me where I got it.

Mr. Mickey was also there to help us celebrate this special event.

Fashion Show for Monkee's Part II

It was an honor to be asked to model for the new Monkee's of Johnson City yesterday. The audience included beautiful ladies of all ages! I am happy to share these inspiring photos with you.

This colorful lunch was served as we modeled all the new fabulous styles.

I hope to see you at the Grand Opening of Monkee's In Johnson City!

Fashion Show for Monkees!

We are so excited to have a fabulous new store here in Johnson City! Monkees will celebrate its grand opening on the 15th of August. Yesterday we got a preview of the wonderful things to come in a fashion show at the Blackthorn Club.

My beautiful friend Krista Wharton is the owner of Monkee's of Johnson City.

The guests will be arriving soon!

In the dressing room, we are all getting excited for the show to begin!

Krista has chosen a wide variety of clothing and accessories for the store so that there is something for women of all ages and style preferences.

It's showtime!

Informal modeling is so much fun since we can interact with the people in the audience as we are showing the clothing.

We had such a great time presenting some of the excellent lines you will find at the new Monkee's Store

There were also beautiful and inspiring ladies in attendance, so you will get to see some of them in the next post.

To be continued!
